Billie V. Hobbs was raised at 10 Nelson Avenue in DeFuniak Springs. She was a 1932 graduate of Walton High School. In 1932 or 1933 (when this photograph was taken) she was proclaimed Miss Cotton Queen, the most beautiful girl in town. She married William Ellis Jones, the nephew of Maude Saunders, in 1934. They spent most of their married life in Gainesville, Florida.
