Book: “Gone . . . but Not Forgotten”

This book was compiled by a committee of people whose families lived in the former Alice Creek and New Hope communities until the early 1940s. The two villages and the surrounding area were confiscated by the United States government for use by Eglin Field. The families received nominal amounts for their property and were forced to leave. Some family cemeteries remain on the property, but permission to enter must be granted by the Walton Guard in Niceville.

The book is available in the genealogy bookshelves for in-museum research. It may also be purchased at our Gift Shop.
