DeFuniak to Have Bottling Plant

Hygeia Works to Be Installed; Will Have Capacity of 1,200 Cases Daily.

DEFUNIAK SPRINGS, Sept 6 — (Special) The Hygeia, or Coca-Cola, people will put in a manufacturing and bottling plant in DeFuniak Springs. The Hygeia distributing plant for DeFuniak the eastern part of the city, and the Springs and vicinity is located in brick building which they own and occupy will be greatly enlarged. The plant will have a capacity to manufacture and bottle 1,200 cases daily giving employment to quite a number of men.

The DeFuniak plant will take care of the trade at Crestview and vicinity, Florala and vicinity, Chipley and vicinity and in DeFuniak Springs and throughout Walton county.

The product will be distributed from DeFuniak Springs on trucks, which means employment for more men who must reside In DeFuniak Springs.

B. G. Wallace, present local distributor, will manage the new works.

The coming good roads was the factor that caused the Hygeia people to decide to manufacture, bottle and distribute their product from DeFuniak Springs. The new plant will be ready for operation by Christmas.
