Prominent West Floridian Dies
DeFUNIAK SPRINGS, March 18-A. L. Beach, prominent in lumber circles of West Florida for the past 30 years, died at his home here today. Funeral services will be conducted tomorrow afternoon at four o'clock.


Arthur Beach married Jennie A. Downs in 1880, and they moved to DeFuniak Springs about 1890. They had three sons, Ralph, Glenn, and Clarence.

Arthur became partners with Henry Rogers; they operated a lumber mill, Beach-Rogers, in the city.

Arthur Lyman Beach was the first mayor of the City of DeFuniak Springs, and he served from 1910 until 1912. He was a Republican.
