Vera Etta Parker Remington
Mrs. Vera Parker Remington, age 62, a resident of Bingham Subdivision, died Thursday evening [April 29, 1971] in a local hospital. She was a native [of] Opp, Alabama, but had been a long-time resident of DeFuniak Springs. She was a member of the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.
Funeral services were conducted at 3:00 p.m. Saturday [May 1, 1971] from the Comander Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Floyd Garrett officiating. Interment followed in the Magnolia Cemetery.
Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Ida Elizabeth Tommie, Gadsden, Ala., Mrs. Charlotte Strickland, Valparaiso, and Mrs. Teena Williamson, of DeFuniak Springs. There are three brothers, Bascomb Parker, DeFuniak Springs, Byrd Parker, Wewahitchka, and Jay Parker, of Samson, Ala., and two sisters, Mrs. Jessie Burgess, DeFuniak Springs, and Mrs. Grady Windsor, of Tallahassee, and seven granchildren.
