Mary Ellen Lawrence Wilkerson

Mrs. Mary Ellen Wilkerson, 82, of DeFuniak Springs, died early Wednesday [January 3, 1962] at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Daisy Bartlett.

She was a native of Hacoda, Ala., was a member of the Church of Christ at Gaskin, Fla., and had resided in DeFuniak Springs for the last four years.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday [January 4, 1962] at the Church of Christ in Gaskin with Minister Marcus Crews officiating.

Burial will be in Gaskin Cemetery with Comander Funeral Home directing.

Mrs. Wilkerson is survived by four sons, [Henry Lee] Wilkerson of Orlando, [Hazy Edison] Wilkerson of Birmingham, Ala., [Iris] A. Wilkerson of Florala, Ala., and [Carl Justin] Wilkerson of Winter Garden, Fla.; two daughters, Mrs. Ruthie Johnson of Gaskin, Mrs. Bartlett of DeFuniak Springs; one brother, Fate Lawrence of Westville; 28 grandchildren and 44 great-grandchildren.
