Lucy Bell Neese
Mrs. Lucy Bell Neese, age 75, a resident of Route 2, DeFuniak Springs, was pronounced dead on arrival, at a local hospital, early Tuesday morning [April 20, 1971]. Mrs. Neese was a native of Covington County, Alabama, and was a former resident of Opp, Alabama, and of Hammond Indiana. She had moved here two days ago.
Survivors include her widower, Mr. Harrison Neese, of DeFuniak Springs; five daughters, Mrs. [Clydie] Blondell Prater, of DeFuniak Springs, Mrs. [Catherine Voncile] Katie Smith of Baker, Mrs. [Dorothy Lorraine] Lorene Davis of Macon, Ga., Mrs. Ellen Patterson, of Auburndale, Fla., and Mrs. Ina Lee Johnson, of Hammond, Indiana; four sons, [Lewis] Neese of Auburndale, Fla., L. C. Neese, Columbia, Ga., James Lamar Neese, Hammond, Indiana, and Leon Neese, of Cedar Lake, Ind.; one sister, Mrs. Ella Para Holloway of Opp, Ala.; 30 grandchildren and 34 great grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted Thursday afternoon at 3 p.m., from the Cluster Springs Church, with Ed Neally officiating. Burial followed in the Cluster Springs cemetery.
