Bennie Edward Bishop

Mr. Bennie Bishop, age 82, of Freeport, Florida passed away May 5, 2008. He was born December 11, 1925, in Freeport, Florida, to Edward and Jane Hare Bishop.

Mr. Bishop had been a resident of Walton County. He was Methodist by faith. He was a veteran of WWII serving his country in the United States Navy, having received the WWII Victory Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal and American Campaign Medal. He worked with General Motors; he also worked as a Baker for 27 years.

Mr. Bishop was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter Carolyn Bishop, two brothers Dan and Jenks Bishop and one sister Rhoda Bishop.

Mr. Bishop is survived by his wife of 57 years Helen I. Bishop of Freeport, Florida, one son Neal Bishop and wife Marie of DeFuniak Springs, Florida, seven grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.

Visitation services will be held at 1:00-2:00 PM, Thursday, May 8, 2008 at Clary-Glenn Freeport Chapel Funeral Home; 150 East Highway 20, Freeport, Florida 32439.

Funeral services will be conducted with military honors at 2:00 PM, Thursday, May 8, 2008, at Clary-Glenn Freeport Chapel Funeral Home, with Reverend David Wilson officiating.

Memorialization will be by cremation.
