Alonzo Harmon McCook

Alonzo Harmon (Red) McCook, 79, of Bruce died in a local hospital Wednesday [February 10, 1971].

He was a native of Bee County, Tex., and has been a resident of Bruce for the past 21 years. He operated the Bruce Cafe and Motel.

He is survived by his widow Mrs. Lura [Irene Ward] McCook of Bruce; three daughters, Mrs. Margaret [Isabell] Sampson of Houston; Mrs. [Lonnie] Lou Morton, Mt. Pleasant, Tex., Mrs. Glenda Allen, of Lincoln, Neb.; two sons, Frank [Allen] McCook and [William Gerald] Jerry McCook of Beaumont, Tex.; one sister, Mrs. Bennie Seals, Hico, Tex.; 13 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 Saturday [February 13, 1971] at the Bruce Methodist Church with Rev. Billy Ray Alexander officiating.

Burial followed in the Dead River Cemetery.

The remains will be placed in the church one hour prior to services.
