1960 February 4 Mr Arthur Slay 87, died at his home Wednesday, a native of Bonifay, he had movedto Defuniak in 1946.  Services were held Friday with interment in Magnolia.  He issurvived by his wife, Mrs Arthur Slay, 3 daughters, Mrs Inez Vice, Mrs AbeleneSimpler, & Mrs Nelle Jean Williamson; 3 brothers W L, GT, & H B Slay, 3 sisters;Mrs Argie Price, Mr W J Tew, and Mrs Ottis Webb and 9 grandchildren. Miss Mary Ernestine Sowell 82, died at local hospital on Sunday. A native of WashingtonCo. Miss Sowell resided in Bridge Creek community for the past 22 years. Serviceswere conducted Monday from Sandy Creek Baptist church. She is survived by 4nephews; Harvey, Avery, Doyle Murphy and John D Sowell; 6 nieces Mrs MaryYoung, Mrs W W Clayton, Mrs Henry Hawkins, Mrs Ernestine Gross, Mrs MarynellAndrews & Mrs Myrabell Alford. Contributed by Lois Danley and Sharon Watson
