1960 Aug 18 Travis Lee Straughn, 81, died at his home in Cantonment Saturday. Services wereheld Monday at Gum Creek Primative in Glendale.  He was a native of Rose Hill, Ala.Private services were held at home of daughter Mrs Agnes Richards before the churchservices.  Besides his daughter Mrs Richards, survivors are 3 sons; Roy D, Carlos M &Walter L Straughn; 2 sisters Mrs C A Chesser & Mrs Martha A Laird; 12 grandchildrenand 20 gr grands. Mrs Luray Weeks, 44, died Friday Aug 12.  She was a native of Darlington, Fla and hadlived in Gaskin for the past 10 yrs.  Services were held at 3:00 from Leonia Baptistchurch, with interment following in the church cemetery.  Mrs Weeks is survived by herhusband, Mr B H Weeks, one son James Coy Stafford, 2 daughters Miss MerleneStafford, and Miss Elizabeth Weeks; 3 brothers M H, E & Corbin Weeks; 2 sisters,Mrs Onvie McDuffie and Mrs Amy Gilmore. Contributed by Lois Danley and Sharon Watson
