March 24, 1927:

Carl Slay who was shot on night of Jan 18 died Thursday of last week, March 17 at a Pensacola hospital.  His body was brought back to DeFuniak and interred the day following his death in Magnolia Cemetery, the deceased is survived by his widow, father and other relatives. The woman who did the shooting was released under a bond of $500.
