1937 Feb 11 - T W Rushing died at his home in Knox Hill community January 13th 1937. Mr Rushingwas born Aug 13 1851, having reached age of 86 at time of his death. He is survived by 5sons M P, R W, T P of Ponce de Leon, Joe of Niceville and K K of Texas; one daughter,Mrs M D Floyd of Ponce de Leon. Internment was Euchee Valley Cemetery. 1937 Feb 18 - The news last Thursday of the tragic death of Mr. & Mrs. S I Williams at Fort Piercecame as a shock to people. Mrs. Alto Adams daughter of the deceased couple, had gone tovisit her mother and found her dead. While officers were investigating her death, the bodyof her husband was found in burned out-building. The Coroner's jury found Mr Williamshad shot his wife, then going to out-building and set fire to it and shot himself. Funeralservices for Mrs Williams were held Friday morning, Feb. 12th and internment was in Gum Creekcemetery. Services for Mr Williams were held Friday, Feb 12th afternoon at Chapel Hill. Mrs J J Adams, widow of the late J J Adams, familiarly known as 'Uncle Jeff'', passed awayat Crestview Tuesday and was buried at Hatcher yesterday (Wednesday). She had reached theage of 92 yrs.Mr & Mrs Brown Miller of Bonifay are the proud parents of a 9 lb son, Brown Jr, born onSunday, Feb 7. M A McLeod 68, died at Florala, Feb 10th and was buried in Elam cemetery near Goshen.He is survived by his wife and seven children, two of whom are Frank & E T McLeod, localresidents. Mr & Mrs DeVaughn Pitts of Pensacola announces the birth of an 8 lb girl on May16th . The baby will bear the name Dorothy Yvonne, Mrs Pitts will be remembered asDollye Howell formerly of New Home. Word was received here last week of the death of Erick Lund at his home in Murdock, Minn.The deceased was former resident of Santa Rosa. Jack Dempsey, an old time resident ofDefuniak passed away in his hom in Toledo, Ohio last week. More about Rev. J E West, whose death was published last week. John Edgar West was bornDec 12 1874 in Thomas Co. Ga, moved with his parents at early age, spent most of his life inHolmes and Walton counties. Also survived by daughter and adopted daughter.
