Hubert Elwyn Cuchens

Mr. Hubert Elwyn Cuchens, age 78, of Freeport, Florida passed away March 23, 2009. He was born April 8, 1930 in Freeport, Florida to William Augusta and Marjory Marie McBee Cuchens.

Mr. Cuchens was Church of Christ by faith and a member of the Freeport Church of Christ. He served in the Armed Services (Army) for his country. He moved to Pensacola and began his career working at Chemstrand/Monsanto, after retiring he moved back home to Freeport.

Mr. Cuchens was preceded in death by his father and mother, two brothers, W.A. Cuchens, Jr. and Roy E. Cuchens, one sister, Hazel McBee Cuchens, one brother-in-law, John R. Watson and one sister-in-law, Wilma Cuchens

Mr. Cuchens is survived by four sisters, Olive E. Watson of Freeport, Florida; Wanda A. Stevens and husband William E. of Pensacola, Florida; Marie Hansley and husband Mitchell of North Carolina and Wynell Welch and husband Gregory of Cantonment, Florida; one brother, Howard Cuchens and wife Violet of Freeport, Florida and one sister-in-law, Jewell Hughes; one aunt, Lorene Howell and one uncle, Eugene Cuchens and wife Mary Bell with numerous nieces and nephews.

A time of visitation will be held from 6:00~8:00 PM, Friday, March 27, 2009 at Clary-Glenn Freeport Chapel Funeral Home; 150 East Highway 20, Freeport, Florida 32439. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 AM, Saturday, March 28, 2009 at Clary-Glenn Freeport Chapel Funeral Home, with Ministers Michael Porter, Ken Burleson and Anthony Cuchens officiating. Floral arrangements are being accepted. Burial will follow in the Hatcher Cemetery with Military Honors. Those serving as pallbearers are as follows: Kenny Cuchens, John W. Watson, Frank Cuchens, Pat Thomason, Greg Stevens, Kelvin Cuchens, Joel Cuchens and Bradley Barefield.
