Mixon Strickland in the Civilian Conservation Corps

Mixon Strickland joined the Civilian Conservation Corps on April 10, 1937, and was discharged upon the expiration of his term on September 30, 1937.

Strickland took his guitar to the CCC camp with him and is pictured with it below at the entrance to the CCC camp. The Walton County Heritage Museum has the guitar in its collection.
